An unidentified individual tragically lost his life due to electrocution while attempting to pilfer transformer cables. The unfortunate incident occurred on the grounds of the Niger State Printing Press located in Minna during the early morning hours of Friday.
The News Agency of Nigeria broke the story, detailing that the deceased was discovered suspended on the transformer by the morning shift.
Aminu Ubandoma, the head of the legal department at the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, verified the unfortunate incident to the press. He disclosed that the company is actively collaborating with law enforcement, particularly the police, to curb the rising incidents of transformer cable theft.
DSP Wasiu Abiodun, spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, also confirmed the occurrence, stating that it was a case of suspected vandalism leading to electrocution that had been reported to the police.
